Now that he's built something resembling positive buzz via the Slaughterhouse video, Joell Ortiz might finally break as a solo artist via his Free Agent LP, which is due out on April 20. Here's a video for the first single, "Call Me," from said solo album, where Joell tells the story of his first love affair in time for Valentine's Day. Things take a turn for the worst when Joell gets with a different girl in a staircase. It's pretty funny that the guy would do a song about a real breakup he had 15 years ago, and then have a, what I can presume, a real reunion with her in the video for that song.


Fredric Joseph "Rik" Cordero (born March 21, 1979) is an award-winning independent music video, commercial, and film director of Filipino descent. He was born and raised in Queens, New York and is known for applying unusual, non-traditional shooting methods in his work. He is also the founder and executive producer of the New York based production company Three/21 Films, founded in 1999. He is currently repped by Robin Frank Management and Robot Films for commercials and music videos.

RESTAURANT 560 DALLAS BY WOLFGANG PUCK

 

After months of planning, the sky-high Five-Sixty 

restaurant by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck will quietly begin its 

"soft opening" Thursday atop Reunion Tower.  

The restaurant, 560 feet above the ground, becomes 

high-end restaurant No. 16 for Puck.

Technically it's his first Dallas restaurant, but the creative
culinarian also is the force behind Cafe Nasher by Wolfgang Puck at
the Nasher Sculpture Center. 

The menu at Five-Sixty will feature Puck's signature 

Asian-influenced cuisine – executed by executive chef Sara Johannes.

But the iconic Reunion Tower space is also designed 

to give diners an eyeful. Patrons can enter via a new 

street-level glass pavilion.  

Fifty stories up, they'll see floor-to-ceiling windows 

that line the restaurant, offering a 360-degree viewing of Big D.

2010 NBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND IN DALLAS

The 2010 NBA All-Star Game is an exhibition basketball game between players selected from the league's Western Conference and the Eastern Conference that will be played on February 14, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be the 59th edition of the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game and will be played during the 2009–10 NBA season.

The NBA currently expects the game to draw a crowd of over 90,000,

which would break the all-time attendance record for the sport.

The Merchant of Venice

The Merchant of Venice is a play by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1596 and 1598. Classified as a comedy in the First Folio, and while it shares certain aspects with Shakespeare's other romantic comedies, the play is perhaps more remembered for its dramatic scenes, and is best known for the character of Shylock.

The director, Michael Radford, believed that Shylock was Shakespeare's first tragic hero, who reaches a catastrophe due to his own flaws: thus the film does not show Shylock purely as a villain, but partly also as a victim. It begins with text and a montage of how the Jewish community is abused by the bigoted Christian population of Venice. One of the last shots of the film also brings attention to the fact that, as a convert, Shylock would have been cast out of the Jewish community in Venice, no longer allowed to live in the ghetto.
The principal roles are Al Pacino as Shylock the Jew, Jeremy Irons as Antonio the merchant, Joseph Fiennes as Bassanio and Lynn Collins as Portia.
